Notable Quotes

“There's something very beautiful about being able to drop your kids off at school and go to your office and it's all in our "bubble" and I think it's important that we have the economic development partnership that's out there trying to bring people in.”
“It's a little bit of give and take. People don't want to widen the roads but what is the option…what are we going to do to get people from A to B…we're going to have to make some tough decisions in the next five to ten years.”
“...there's so much traffic…I think we need to be thinking of ways to improve while preserving The Woodlands.”
“I love that we have Arbor Day...I think we could do more with having people involved with tree-planting and the invasive species task force.”

Notes from Local Researchers

  • TOWNSHIP BUDGET PRIORITIES: "My biggest priority would be keeping taxes as low as possible while maintaining the services and amenities that our residents expect and enjoy."[1]
  • PUBLIC SAFETY PRIORITIES: "Our reputation as a safe, family-friendly community helps attract residents, visitors and businesses. I would focus on finding new ways to protect our township, focusing on the commercial district where we see the highest concentration of crime, while continuing to support the safety of our neighborhoods."[1]
  • LEGISLATIVE CHANGES: "I am looking forward to potential legislative changes regarding e-scooters and e-bikes. I also would like to see more protections regarding privacy and emerging technologies."[1]
  • BIGGEST CHALLENGES FACING THE TOWNSHIP: "The three biggest challenges are safety, economic development and traffic. I would address safety first. The Woodlands’ reputation for being a safe community is one of our greatest assets. If residents and visitors don’t feel safe, they won’t want to live, visit or do business here."[1]
